These Petstores Are Making Me Mad

Ok a couple days ago I went to petsmart to pick up some crickets and meal worms. while the lady was getting the stuff for me I looked on the counter were the crickets were and there was a died betta still in the cup! I had to look away it made me so mad. About a week ago when I got my female I went to a pet store I never had been to before and there were about 4 of the female bettas and they all looked just like each other so I assume they are sisters. But I looked at one that was dying! It could move but barely it might have already been died I don't know but I chose my female and she was lucky to because all the females were skinny but the males looked in good health so it looked like the females weren't getting attention like the males were!!!

It seems to me like more and more lfs's are going downhill... I don't know what it is, they just don't hire quality staff anymore or something. It's like any shmuck off the streets can take care of and sell living animals these days, whether they know anything or not

Over here in the UK I think they employ the people they can pay the least. They seem to employ total idiots in a lot of places like pets at home, but I've a feeling they wouldn't employ someone like me.

I steer clear of these places now. I kept posting how I went into these shops and felt upset and angry, and someone suggested I just dont go in. If people stopped giving these places custom then they'd close down. Some of those places I wish would.

We've got some great stores in Norfolk though who really do look after and know about their fish. Swallow aquatics are a favourite of ours. And Hellesdon Barns. There's some hope yet for decent stores.

Another thing I went to a dollar store and they had about 8 bettas but the cups were half filled!!!

Bettas in a dollar store? ARRRG! Thats HORRRIBLE!

The US is even worse than over here for fish cruelty. You can't do that to a betta! Can you? O dear lord thats made me angry.

Thankfully we dont have bettas in cups over here. They just dump the poor things in with any old fish and hope for the best.

Well they do over here and I hate that. Here is a pic of the bowl that I think petstores should use instead of cup. This bowl is small but not as small as those stupid cups!
