Ok so, my tank came with one of those sticky on thermometers, which says I've been keeping the tank at around 78 degrees.  Which seemed all fine and good, then I got one of those thermometers with the red liquid inside and sticks on with a magnet, they are currently both on the tank and have a vastly different reading, they aren't very far apart, and both on the opposite side from the heater.  The sticky one reads 78 and is stuck at the base below the gravel line (horizontally), and the magnet one is vertical on the same corner with the base just above the gravel line and reads 86 degrees.... Which should I trust?

Well they could both be out you have one inside the tank in the water and the other outside so it could be affected by the room temperature. What setting have you put your heater on?

My heater doesn't have like a marked dial or anything, just a plus minus setup, so I currently have it around the middle, and Yeah the magnet one is inside.

Also the house heat is set to 70 typically during the day, 60 at night
