When I took my eheim turbine out I managed to snap the shaft and I was abit annoyed, However I tried glueing it back and putting it in and then it snapped again and got stuck inside the turbine. So when I tried removing that I broke the turbine itself.

Just had to order both off ebay but I'll be filterless until monday most likely. I have a powerhead to keep flow and oxygen, I have the canister bottom inside the tank to keep the bacteria alive and warm too, Apart from that not sure what to do still spares come. Hopefully my fish are cool to wait a couple of days

Its honestly annoying when you go breaking stuff like that :p

Large water changes every day until the new parts come should just about cover you I would have thought.

This be my largest tank at 260l am way to lazy for huge water changes :p

I thought the idea of half the canister being it would be it could still proccess ammonia just not that well?

You gotta stop breaking things! ;)

Think it's time to get a DIY Python hose system for these water changes.

Also your bacteria should be ok for a few days, they're pretty resilient really, just a case of keeping eye on water params as you know anyway.

Nice looking tank T. I couldn't see it earlier at work as they block a lot of image sites.

Its  better when its not murky and filterless

If only they fit this one too :p

In my 29 gallon, in addition to my penguin 200 filter, I installed a sponge filter that works with the air pump which was already installed in the tank.     Now if my filter dies or if the power goes on and comes back on and the penguin doesn't prime ,  I'll still have some temporary filtration.  It's good insurance for all of $8.99.  It's 4 inches in diameter and is hidden behind a large plant.
