Well, went on the hunt to find some decently priced guppies yesterday. The community tank is looking quite empty and boring, so we thought a few of these little critters would most definitely brighten it up. Now, I know people struggle to get rid of their fry - so has anyone else noticed their prices creeping up in LFS's?

The lowest price I saw yesterday was £2.25 each, for both males and females.

Granted, there was a vary of colours but they were all obviously older fish, rather than youngsters.

ive been noticing that aswell but not as much, ive seen in the same shop guppys for £1.30 its going up because guppys are very suseptable to desease because they have a week amoune system, (well so the man at the fish shop said). but i didn't know they were up to that high now, ill have a hunt around for some cheeper deals because i am thinking about getting guppys again (all females, my tank cant cope with more babys). ill post anything i find.
shang hi :good:

Where were you looking?

Paisley Road west has a about 4 Tropical fish stores, then there is Dobbies in Milngavie, Stirling...uhm...Riverside Aquatics Stirling...then if you want a further trek there are 2 places in Edinburgh and even further afield is Ultimate Aquatics Fife :)

I've never been to Paisley Road, although the stores have been sung praises. Dobbies I tend to stay away from now - any fish I've bought from Stirling Dobbies has died, bar one platy which is still here[although had to be saved twice]. I LOVE Riverside, that's one of the best LFS's I've been to, had quite a few top quality fish from there. Tanks are spotless, and one of the guys really know what they're talking about.

We were only looking in Glasgow City Center, which was a huge disappointment.
