The Reef Ranch, Leeds

Hi all,
I've posted a message in the Marine section, but this may be of interest to all. I found out this week from Chris, the owner of 'The Reef Ranch' in Leeds that he's closing the shop. It's a real shame; his livestock in particular are fabulous, really excellent healthy fish, as are his corals, frags etc. As a result, he's selling everything in the shop at trade price plus VAT. This includes equipment and dry goods, so even if you keep tropicals you'll probably find something you can use. The shop's been open for two or three years now and he was just thinking of going into tropicals, too. Google 'reef ranch' and you'll find the website with details of directions and the phone number. Phone first if there's anything specific you're after. Hope this is of use to some of you.

Damm!
Thats a crying shame as Chris has really helped me in recent months with my marine venture. Pity I cannot get over to Bradford/Leeds until next year as there are still a few things I need.
Wonder why he is closing as he has built up a excellent reputation for himself in marine circles.

Having spoken again with Chris recently, I think it's just the general expense of the initial outlay - equipment, livestock, rates etc. As you say, it's a shame as he has built up a really good reputation in the three years the shop's been open. Anyone who's within travelling distance please give him a phone call to see if he has anything of use to you. I'll be stocking up on AquaSafe this week!!.
