The perils of fish shop visits.

Well, you can likely figure out what happened by the title.

I made the mistake of visiting one of my local fish shops, intending only to pick up some rock and sand, maybe some algae wafers.

I ended up not buying those things, but I did come out with a bag of Nannostomus beckfordi and a bonded pair of Apistogramma bitaeniata.

How has your Saturday gone, have any of you had any similarly interesting fish shop visits?

Yes, almost every time... I walk in to get a snail and I end up getting a $30 mushroom.

To be fair I got off cheaply, another shop I went in today has a very interesting catfish in... For £1200.

My LFS had a $600 red tailed catfish... bonded pair was for $1200.

Wow! My LFS has a massive red tailed catfish for $500. I am guessing someone local sold it to them, as they have never had one before.

I do that all the time. I tell my mom "I just want to go LOOK at the electic blue acara, to see if I like it. I won't buy it today mom its ok" *walks out of store with an electric blue acara, 7 bloodfin tetras, and a plan to go back and buy 5 more bloodfin tetras next time they are in stock*

I tell my dad "its ok, I don't need to buy anything. I just need to price the rimless tanks and look at the cherry shrimp, I'll be so quick" *walks out of store with rocks and $15 of plants, and then realizes when I get home I didn't look at the shrimp OR rimless tanks and now need to go back"

My LFS had a $600 red tailed catfish... bonded pair was for $1200.

The one for £1200 was a Platynematichthys notatus.
