Okay, so I was looking in my fish book and I saw something called a Jaguar Cat. Googled it and got some answers, but I still want to know a lot more about them. Like...
1. How big do the fish get?
2. Can they happily live in a 55 US gallon tank?
3. Can I encourage them to come out during the day with dimmed lighting?

Thank you TFF for answering my numerous questions! :)

Hi these are one of the most beautiful catfish around but afraid its not great for this situation.

They get to around 10 inches and are best kept in small groups of about 3 as they are gregarious by nature. I would recommend a tank size of around 100 gallons. I am hoping to get a group in my next tank which is around 125g, in there I am planning to just use half lighting on the tank to try and encourage them out and about.

There are some smaller relatives of these like these http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=367 Centromochlus Perugiae similar patterns and colours but a drastic size difference. For these I would get a large group if you can and equally dim the tank best you can :)
