:-( :-( :-( I had to put down one of my plecos last night. I am sad about it. He first started with a crooked tail that developed it looked like over night. I figured he got cuaght in an ornament or something. I had been fighting fin rot on him for a while now after the broke tail last night he just sat in the corner breathing hard. He hasnt eaten in 3 days. Last night I put him down so he would not suffer. :byebye:

Wow, I give you a lot of credit for doing the most humane thing you can do for another living creature!
It must have been so hard, but he is out of his misery.
So sorry to hear of your loss! :-( :rip: :byebye:

thanks, it was hard to do. I had 2 in a 55 gallon tank , and one is huge the other that died was about half grown. i may get another later, but I think I will wait on any more plecos right now. He was a cool little fella, he loved cucumbers, last night was supposed to be their night for them, i will give my remaining friends cucumbers tonight. :-(

Sorry for your loss. :/
You did the responsible thing.

It is alot harder to put down larger fish.

Two months ago I put down my last angel. He was 5 years old.

I was shaking for an hour after, but it had to be done. :/

i put down my friends 15inch pleco for him and there was nothing wrong with it he just couldnt sell it so in a way i helped him out...anything for a friend.i just left it on the floor and stamped on it.

That is horrible. Some people SHOULD NOT own pets. :grr:

That was a very hard choice to make and one I don't envy :( I am sorry for your loss and you did the right thing..No fishy deserves to suffer :rip:

hermit I don't know why you feel such a horrible action as putting a well pleco down can be anything like the situation rollntider was in

Thats a little rash, but i do see why you are angry. Not exactly a considerate post, hermit. I suggest you edit it

To put down a healthy pet is wrong.

Put the fish in a bag, hand bag to lfs employee, walk out.

My dog is perfectly healthy. I can't sell him, so I'll have my friend bash his head in.

Doesn't that sound messed up? It's the same thing.

wow, that's disgusting. There's just no need for that. I know that it was your friend's plec, not yours but even still. cc is right, that fish could have gone to another home via the petshop if necessary and the 'method' used is out of order.

Not impressed with that at all. :grr:

Sorry to go off topic rollntider, sorry for what's happened. :(

i didnt really kill his fish that would be sick i just wanted to see what other people would do. i guess it wasnt that funny considering where i posted it but im sorry.
god bless mr.pleco :byebye:
