Today, the very first fish I owned passed away. He was a stunning dark blue Betta with lovely flowing tail fins. Asides from being beautiful he was responsible for the fact I now have 6 tanks, including a new reef tank
So thank you buddy!
He went by the name of Lawrence and was a real character! He also got the affectionate nickname of 'mr grumpy' because he would always stare at you as if to say 'what you looking at?' He had a good life though, after the initial 1 month where he was in an Ammonia ceasepool as I didn't know anything about fish-keeping. He even spent 2 weeks of his later life with a girlfriend! They didn't care about one another and just kept out of each other's way! He always made me laugh at feeding time, espically on days when frozen food was on the menu because he would just sit there and watch the feeding freenzy going on with the platties! He was also a great betta in that he was very docile.. now to my better knowledge he has been kept with gourami's, guppies and many other creatures not quite suitable for most bettas - didn't bother him though!
Thanks little guy and RIP
Unfortunatley I can't find a picture.

Lawrence.
But its always nice to hear about fish who have had a good life and have been loved. Sounds like he was quite a little character! and was a lucky little fish who was responsible for finding you a hobby that you love and giving more fish a chance to have a good owner!
