hey,in my tank i have a siamese fighter and 3 cherry shrimp
for tankmates to finish it off i have a few ideas and thought i would run them past you guys
my tank size is a mere 6.6uk gal

head and tail light tetras,i know tetras have a bad rep with bettas but is this kind ok...they look awesome
ember tetras, same as above, are they ok.also,i am having trouble finding much info on them...is ember tetra another name for flame tetra?
endlers,i have liked them for ages
white cloud mountain minnows, they seem rather pleasent little beasts

so are any of these suitable tank mates,if not then why

i am aware of overstocking and that my tank is very small so if you think it would be best to leave my tank as it is then thats cool

thanx in advance

I might leave it alone, or add more shrimp, which really don't do much to the bioload. More cherries or maybe some ghost shrimp for variety. I also like apple snails, and if you just have one you don't have to worry about it multiplying. The tanks a bit small for a good number of tetras, and when I've had them in small groups, they've gotten nippy with tankmates. Not sure about white clouds, but I have seen them suggested as ideal tankmates with bettas.

Any tankmates with bettas is entirely up to the betta, really, unless it's a nipper that won't be able to resist his fins. Some bettas are evil guys - Mine killed a dwarf frog and tear shrimp apart and carry their bits around like trophies.

i think my betta is a bit of a wimp, one of my shrimps regularly goes eye to eye with the betta nad the betta just swims off.

i would really like something swimmy rather than crawly (although my shrimps are awesome!) but at the same time i am not gonna put the tanks health at risk.
although a snail could be interesting, def something to consider

i just remembered another potential idea,galaxy rasboras...maybe

anyways,thanx for your advice

anybody else?

hmm.. i'd say more shrimp, or some snails, or an african dwarf frog (make sure its a dwarf of you go with one of these, the clawed ones get huge)

:good:

i am planning on getting another 2 cherry shrimp cuz they look cool and dont mess with the bio load to much
the frogs could be fun,i will have to research them
the more i think of the snail idea the more it sounds cool one moment then a bit  the next

so as for swimmys

galaxy rasbora
endlers
white clouds
ember tetras

my two fave ideas are the embers or the endlers, but would any of these four be ok in the tank?

dammit i need to get a bigger tank lol :shout:
my 2 lfs's have really cool fish at the moment, its sooooo frustrating!!!

galaxy rasbora - like to be in groups, can nip your better
endlers - the betta can attack and kill these
white clouds - like to be in groups, can nip your better
ember tetras - like to be in groups, can nip your better

you can get 1-2 ottos, of you want. :good: they're kinda swimmy.

thanx for the advice, prob go for some amano shrimps or a funky snail
otto's are not really my thing, they are cool but just dont appeal to me

does anybody else has any thoughts they want to add
(ok i am hoping somebody will say what i want to hear lol)
but yeah i def need a bigger tank,it just doesnt satisfy my needs right now lol
will prob save up for something like a 20 or 30 gal

thanx a lot, right time for some research :look:
