The End Is Near

on one of my java fern leaves i have left floating around in the tank for a few weeks the end / tip of it has sprouted a small green bulge with some roots (3mm) coming off from it.
do i cut it off now / leave it till when? what's the next step to it ?
 
Starting to notice this on a few others as well.

They normally drop off by themselves once they get too big or you could guide the tips to some wood so it anchor itself over time
