Welcome to the forum Crisean.
Almost any white spot treatment should work fine, even plain old table salt will work if used correctly. I have a link in my signature area to an article by the skeptical aquarist on ich and its treatment. Once you understand what the life cycle of that parasite looks like, you will avoid most of the common mistakes people make trying to treat it. It all comes down to a few simple facts really.
1. We cannot treat the fish or kill the parasite while it is on the fish.
2. The life cycle is very short so once there are no signs of the parasite on any fish, it will only take 3 or 4 more days to kill off the remaining parasites.
3. When the parasites are looking for their next host is the point in the life cycle where we can kill them without killing the hosts.
What we do is treat the water continuously so that after the parasites drop off and multiply, they will not survive the trip of finding a new host. After a a few days with no visible lesions in the tank, there will be no more parasites alive to seek out a host. At that point, and not before, it is safe to stop the treatment.
At one time I made the classic mistake of treating ich until I could no longer find it in my tank. A week or two later I got to start all over, but unfortunately my fish got to start over too. If I had simply continued long enough, most of my fish would have survived and thrived instead of being weakened and killed by repeated infestations. It is a mistake I no longer make.
