Today i had a revalation of an idea whilst at my LFS, i was looking at all the beautiful bettas and was wishing how i could have more of them.

The only issue i have is space and lot's of smaller tanks certainly tank up space, and as i have a new betta coming i knew i'd need a new tank and after some consideration i knew which one i would get- the same one that the captain is in.

Origionally i was unsure about these tanks, they are clearseal 13litre with a baisic acrylic lid and come with a filter and abit of gravel and is £15. But i have come to realise that i have found mine ideal for The Captain, and i'm sure any lone betta would enjoy one as a little home. I also noticed that as the tanks are all identical and easy to get hold of if they were put side by side they would make a nice row that wouldnt take up alot of space! Each tank would require 2 plug sockets.

So after i get my bedroom decorated i am going to start BETTAS ROW

I intend to have about 5 of the tanks in a row with black card between each so the bettas can't see each other and i can easily individually heat and filter each one so if one tank had a problem then it would not be an issue to treat it. I've also figured out a very simple water changing routine.

And i will be rescuing bettas from the clutches of evil fish keepers :shifty:

What are peoples thoughts?

Lol mts strikes again :shifty:  beleive me once you have filled them you will want more :hyper:

I have found the clearseal tanks really good the plastic hoods arent the geatest but still really good :good:

Good luck with youre plan though :good:

Well to me that sounds awesome! I am extremely jealous and want PICSSSSS as soon as you get them :)

Wow tank for £15 PM me where get those from!

p.s. the reason those sound so good to me is because the cheapest in my area is £20 plastic tank with gravel and filter which is alright... but much prefer something like that ;)

though no more tanks (for the minute!)

what kinds of bettas have caught your eye?

£15 is the cheapest i can find too everything else is £20 and over and thats for a plain tank.

I plan to rescue the bettas and nurse them up and give them a loving home for the rest of there lives :D

Your such a sweetie!!! Hmm.. will have a total of 4 maybe 5 tanks set up (after giving one to my sister). Will see how the year's electricity bill goes and I really want to follow suit!

Keep us updated, how soon do you reckon you will be set up and on your way?

Depending on our decorators (i'l be doing alot of painting myself) a good few months as i need my finances to allow

It will be an on going project i guess with me adding a tank whenever i can.

An idea to keep costs down could be running an air filter in each tank, all run by a central air pump... just an idea and I look forwards to seeing pics! :)

Ps. I am also very jealous!

Cool Idea, and Agree that Sponge filters ran of Air pumps would be a very cheap way to filter the tanks. And you can make your own from margarine/yoghurt tubs.

The tanks i will be buying come with filters in the price :shifty:

You've got to pick em up fast tho, they sell incredably quickly, all il need to add will be heater and decorations.

Then of course the bettas i intend to nuture.
