I love these fish, they are easy to keep,
easy to breed, don't get too big for a cichlid, about 8"
and have a mild enough temperment that you are able to keep
them with other simlar sized cichlids, with a similar temperment.
Except when in breeding mode, when like most cichlids,
they get a bit stroppy.

Absolutely a beautiful fish.. I wonder if i could keep a few of them in with my malawis?? Anyone?

I wouldn't try it,
1.. they need different water conditions,

and 2.. the malawis would be too aggressive for acaras.
