Come on then, the biggest game in English football is upon us tomorrow, what's gonna happen?
It doesn't matter who is where in the league, beating ManU is one ofthe sweetest feelings in any season, we had a nasty spell years ago where we would outplaay them, then get done by a late goal
Then we had a sweet spell where we always beat them B) then recently we can't beat them again (other than on the way to winning the FA cup
). We were hideously outclassed at the Theatre of Queens this season, but the Liverpool team now is actually a team again rather than a collection of players.
So many runs are involved in this match, Liverpool not lost at Anfield in the league for 30 games, Liverpool not beaten ManU in the league in 5 seasons at anfield. If Liverpool lose, then I am sure like most others that the title will be over, even if you assume that Chelsea win their games in hand they will be 6 behind with 9 games to play and although ManU still have to visit the rent boys I can't see it happening. If Liverpool win, then Chelski win their games in hand, they will be 3 points behind and with the home game in hand they could be level on points, although Manu have a vastly superior goal difference, that would be close enough for Chelsea to go on and win.
To add to it, Liverpool are out of the title race and if I'm being honest we aren't even in the hunt for 2nd anymore, we do however have a much bigger game next week against Barcelona to hopefully put us through to the quarter finals of the European cup (the one we've won 5 other times
) Despite everyone knowing how important this game is to Liverpool fans, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rafa fields a weakened side, possibly dropping the likes of Carragher and Gerrard with Hyypia and Agger in defence and Mascherano staying in midfield. Personally I'd put Fowler in up front, as we still have a problem finishing and he's the best there is. Of course because I am expecting Rafa to do this he could well field the best we have
This could be either a great game or one of those dull 0-0 draws as a draw wouldn't be a bad result for either side.
I think it'll be a decent game probably with Liverpool taking the lead in the first half only for Shrek to score late on
What do you think?
