The Best Fish Forum

It's horses for courses.

The SW side of this forum is somewhat light and can't claim to compete with the Behemoth that is Reef Central. RC has had 2948 members online at once, compared to TFF with 841.

The membership of RC is also massive: Members: 148,809, Threads: 1,031,284, Posts: 9,196,652.

I find TFF a good general site, but it does lack depth in a number of areas.

Im loyal to a forum I join and usually stick with it so I have note been a key member to another fish forum except this one :D

i still find this forum massive, my other forum were chuffed if there's 17 of us online

actually prefer a slightly smaller group so you really get to know everyone

I find this to be an excellent forum, one of the better ones I've joined.
Iam a member of a Betta forum and also find that to be very good but I spend most of my time on here!

This site can't compete with the more specific forums such as Reef Central that Andywg mentioned, or Plecofantics etc..but as an overall forum for fishkeeping in general it's certainly one of the best.

this is the most helpful forum and true experts are on here like miss wiggle and stang1 and so on

This is now my 2nd choice, though it used to be #1.

The level of knowledge is high (if you can learn who to listen to and who to ignore  ), but unless i have a problem or specific question I don't need to talk about fish all the time and answering the newbie questions time and time again is dull (as others have discussed elsewhere) and as I'm not interested at this point in time in moving in a new direction, or moving into more specialist areas, the other forum areas don't hold out any interest for me. So I need something else to entertain me and since the closure of General Talk, TFF doesn't have it, so I found somewhere that does ;)

I've never been a member of any other forums, but looked at some other fish forums and
they didn't seem as good as this one. It covers all topics in fishkeeping and there are many
experts to help you out.

 Poor things.

i used to be a bit of a lurker just read and try to find out things but was always finding out good stuff on here i cant realy say much as ive not been on many other fish forums ( or maybe that says it all ? )
Great site here tho keep up the good work admin and mods and of course all the members that make it good to read and easy to learn stuff :good:

I guess it's appropriate that this is my 1000th post! :-

I have found this to be an excellent general information forum. While I often move from here on to other more specific sites, it's always a great place to start looking for anything and there certainly are some real experts here on a number of topics. I've learned a ton over the past 2+ years and hopefully have been able to give a bit back.

edit: Oops! I forgot that this spot doesn't count towards the post count.
