I dont know if anyone else has been following the Accidental Angler series on BBC 2 (UK only as far as im aware) and i was just wondering what people think of it...
I think its been a really interesting series, and last sunday (26th Nov), the presenter, Charles Rangeley-Wilson was fishing in the amazon for peacock bass, and he did manage to get some in the end. There were festivum cichlids, tigrinus cats, flagtails, and some sort of paranah also in the programme, and it was just quite a good program.

For anyone who doesnt know, the program is about Charles Rangeley-Wilson who is a fishing/angling fan, who goes all over the world in search of some pretty rare and sometimes sacred fish, and trys to catch them and learns about the countrys culture etc. He was in india a couple of weeks back, trying to catch this awesome fish, which he managed to get in the end, but i really cant remember the name of it (anyone?) and he was catching brown trout the week after. I think the one last night may have been the last in the series, but if not, i really think you should try and watch it, as its really quite interesting. Its on a 8:00 on a sunday, on BBC 2.

What the point of posting this is im not too sure, but just kinda wondering if people watch it, and what they think.

Thanks, Mikey

I haven't seen this but it sounds great.

I imagine the big indian game fish to be mahseer? Ring any bells?

Yeah, the mahseer, absolutely fantastic fish. Huge scales, and has a mad gold sheen....Great fish, and they get huge!!! They're very sacred to the indians apparently.
Its defineately worth watching, he caught loads of sub-species of the peacock bass' aswell. Great show.

the mahseer is an amzing fish, on Jungle hooks on home and leisure has his quest to catch that along with other fish, love them all.....
I need a bigger tank for that mahseer lol
