anyway, NO ottos in a new tank that is for sure. stick with a couple of guppies either all male or all female as you dont want tons of fry in a tank that small. then maybe get a small group of 5 or 6 pygmy corries after the tank has been going a month or two. only get them after it is cycled.

6 males, keep it at males because females can store sperm from males in the shop tank for up to 6 months so can make themselves pregnant over and over.

how can i tell while at the fish shop if thier male

look at the anal fin, females have a fan shaped fin and the males have an appendage called the gonopodium, it backs up as a penis in a way.
