Thayeri Spawning

Got some fun going on in the tank in the front room. My young thayeri are spawning and causing havock. Got a couple of picks, its a shame the camera does not do their colours justice..

Checked this morning, the log is absolutely covered in eggs. So far there is very little aggression from the pair as the other fish are keeping away. Its bad timing though, I cannot raise the babies as my fry tank is full at the moment. Its their first spawn so most likely they will give up or eat the eggs soon - hopefully.

First batch were eaten sadly, but unknown to me the female spawned this time with the other male - very well hidden eggs I hadnt noticed they had spawned until tonight where I spotted this little lot!!

The male is very calm keeping the fry in the undergrowth, but the female is the one charging at any fish that come to close or me with the camera!
