THANKS TROPICAL FISH FORUMS FOR ALL DA ADVICE AND PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to buy Liquifry for livebearers today to start them immediately! I know what it feels like. Felt the same when I first had baby platies.

Congrats :good:

Liquidfry 2 is very good but very messy,i find putting a little bit of tank water in a small pot and add liquidfry, mix it,then using a small pipette put it in the water for the fry. Or finely crushed flakes,

keep the fry water clean,50% w/c daily keeps the fish healthy and gives them a faster growth rate :)

Good Luck :good:

Newborn mollies are quite a bit bigger than many newborn livebearers. I would start them with some finely crushed flake food, especially the vegetarian type, and frozen daphnia if you can find some. Don't use a lot of the daphnia since a little goes a long way. The adult females will be happy to eat either of these foods too. BBS is the food of choice for some hobby breeders but I don't find the trouble hatching them to be worth it in many cases. Do lots of water changes as Harlequins suggested.
Keep an eye on the female you are adding to the fry tank. She was not there when they arrived so may not be as safe with them as the others were.

i went and seen the woman from the fish shop and se as sorted me out with some livefry food and she gave me a breed trap so my other pregnant mollie is in that now till she drops she is also willing to ovver me £1.50 for each mollie which is perfect we decided we are going to get another ospital tank with te money and then start selling to her wic should be good if all goes well that is

I very much dislike the breeding traps but I know there are people that use them with success. The £1.50 each looks like a very nice price for juvenile mollies but will mean that you need lots of growing space for the fry to get big enough to sell. I don't push mine that hard and just sell at club auctions so my space needs are more limited and I don't need a big grow out setup established for a single species. My main cash crops in fish are goodeids, not common fish like mollies and guppies. They demand a better price than the easy to find fish and are no more trouble to breed than the common ones. Unfortunately they are a specialist fish so selling them at the LFS is not always an option.
