Well after what seems like months of indecision and waiting patiently (yeh, right) for my fishless cycle to complete, i am happy to say i have fish acclimating as i type this! Yay! I had decided on a pair of blue rams and some tetras, but when i got to the first store that has rams, they only had one pair left and the female was in distress, rubbing against the bottom, clamped fins... erm, no thanks. I drove to another store, he had some blues but he advised me to stay away from those because they were recovering from ick. In another tank system they had bolivians, and i ended up getting a pair. Or anyways i think it's a pair. He got out his big fish book and looked at the them for awhile and picked out what he thought was a male and female, so we'll see. Then i got about 12 cardinal tetras to round out my tank.

You guys and gals have been the only thing between me and raving insanity during this long wait, thanks so much for your suggestions and general fishie talk.

Edit: by the way, i really like this store. There were a few tanks with sick fish that were marked as being medicated and not for sale, separated from their tank system, instead of being sold to newbies and contaminating the rest of the tanks. When i want to buy a bunch of cardinals in addition to the rams he gave me a concerned look and asked if it was a new tank. I explained to him that i've fishless cycled it with ammonia and that the cycle was established, and he nodded and said OK! No scoffing! No claims that it wouldn't work! I was amazed. He seemed to be a knowledgeable fish guy, and those are rare around here. Plus, there was not a single dyed fish in the store!

edit 2: well i guess no one cares  Thanks anyway...
