Well basically i live right by the thames, at vauxhall, near where the ducktours go in and out of the river, and theres a slipway and a beach there at low tide, i got there with my dog and ive collected a few bits of wood, so let me get down to the point.
The first time i went i got a few nice bits (1 really nice bit shaped like mangrove roots, and i soaked the bit shaped like mangrove roots but it started growing lots of mould so i chucked it.
Well ive got a few more pieces that look branchy they are harder and have dried out more than the other bit, im soaking them atm, but my question is, at vauxhall is the thames still brackish? if so how brackish? because i know its not good to use sea driftwood in a freshwater tank, i was wondering if i soaked it for about a month would that leach the salts, also is it safe? i know the thames is clean but some sewage is still released into the river.
