Thai Red Claw Crabs

Hi there
Looking for something slightly different in the 330l tank and wondering whats the deal with These aquatic crabs you see everywhere, The two main varieties I have seen are the Thai Red Clawed and Vampire Crabs, I would have thought these guys would have shred fish up? I currently have a community tank with Hi there

5 balloon mollies (1 male 4 females),
6 neon tetra
8 bleeding blue tetra
3 rummynose
1 rainbow shark
2 plecs
Sabd Substrate
4 Foot long by 2 Foot High

Would they work here?

Should be ok the neons maybe a slight problem though. Ive noticed aswell its a split decision with some people that the crabs need to be able to get out of the water for a while, if they cant do this then it shortens the life span of the crab. Not sure how ture this is?

They all need some degree of salt if they are to live long and healthy lives and none of your fish will appreicate that. They are also very likely to nip at passing fish. I did ponder them myself a few months ago because they do look fantasic, but did a lot of reading into it and read various posts on here which all scream not to do it.

Not sure about the vampire crabs, but I know that the red claws are primarily a land crab, spending 80% of their time on land. If there is no land access, they wont last long. They should have a species only brackish palaudirum really.

.....they will also eat any fish that they get the chance to.

Ahh okay then, I saw some nice Zebra Shell Snails the other day actually, may have to invest in some, how quickly do they reproduce? do really want a species thats going to overwelm the tank, I have assasin snails in another tank and there perfect, just always burried

they sound like nerite snails? They will only reporduce in brackish water.

Apple snails will happily reproduce in a freshwater set-up. Mine are constanly on the move and they are not interested in burying in the substrate.

I had three apples snails, within a month i had about 2347862378462378462346 (serious i counted them) eggs so i took 2 back and kept one
