Has anyone else thought of this and thought it was a great idea?

If i had the skill and know how, i would create a dodge version and show it to the moderators

But think about it. Your at your LFS and you try to explain or remember something you saw on the forums. but cant remember for the life of you. If only there was an app that loaded YOUR profile, showed the most recent topics you have viewed or posted on, even ones your following or consider a favorite topic. Not only that but if you could browse other topics and forums aswell.

Be honest, how many people have gone to the shops with there partner or similar situation and thought "I could be on TFF instead of doing this" If there was an app, you could :D

Granted you can access the website from your phone but its awkward to use because none of the buttons or anything are an easy to access size.

Any one else agree, or want to add anything?
Know anyone that could give it a shot?

The site views fairly well from a mobile browser, which is why apps haven't really been developed thus far.

We have a mobile version.

It would be a good idea I'll give you that, but Internet from a phone costs big time  .

From the homepage, go down to the bottom left hand side, and click "View Mobile Version". Works a treat.

Hehe, get credit for trying I suppose. :dunno:

I tried using the mobile format and gave up on it on my phone. I just use the full version on my phone and works a treat anyway.

Yea I just u e the full version on my cell too. Although I like the idea of a better mobile chat. I know there already is a mobile version but honestly it's not that great an its easier to use the full version.

My Galaxy automatically switches to it and it works great for me. Very useful.

IMO, i would love an app, as then it could forward messages or notifications to phone and pop up maybe more realtime to a post or even on the chat, i hate using the mobile version of the site thats my opinion tho personally i would love an app and think it is a great idea, maybe an app for just chat? as trying to see what people post and type on chat is kinda annoying on a phone thats my suggestion

Maybe someday but I see more and more sites are going away from aps toward responsive pages. So that's likely to be the future of mobile computing in general. It's easier on developers and users don't need to install or update anything.

Search for Tapatalk on Andriod Market.  Think this site needs a plug in for it though.

Responsive design is the way to go - can I ask why the page doesnt automatically load as mobile? It could be easily accomplished through @media queries, javascript, jquery, or even some regular expressions. I like the mobile version

That would have to do with the device I suppose. On my phone it does automatically load as mobile.

I don't know who's in charge of the coding / how the web development side of this site works, but perhaps a better way to handle mobile visitors would be to use the tools on this site to redirect: http://detectmobilebrowsers.com/

Obviously the current method isn't very universal, other options might be coding limits in the viewing window size in that when the window size is a certain pixel size the site uses the mobile theme. This can be accomplished with javascript or jquery quite easily (ex: $(document).ready(function() {if($(window).width() < x) { window.location.replace(mobile version url);});

EDIT: That would be the jquery version.
