I am in the process of changing the internal filter in my juwel trigon 190 to an external filter. The tetratec range seem good value for money. My question is should I go for the tetratec 700 or spend a bit extra on the 1200 which is for aquariums upto 500 litres. Would this be too powerful for a 190 litre aquarium?

I'd say go for the ex1200. I've two of them on a 450 litre

As above defo go with the 1200, I run a EX700 and EX1200 on my 200l tank and would say the the ex700 alone is not enough for a 190l tank IMO.

New tetra's come with taps to reduce flow, they will replace the head if it dies within 3 years :good:

Heck I used to run two 1200's on my 180 litre tank. :D

Their random classifications of 'upto X litres' is a little silly really.
