So I have these fish, which are some kind of Tetra. They are translucent with a blue sheen, I think they may be Cochu's Tetras.
The last day or two a couple of them changed colour, they lost their blue sheen and got bright pink spots at the base of their tails and were chasing the other one around the tank. They are now back to normal but one of them is staying in one place by the filter box in the tank. We looked a bit closer as we thought it might be injured or something, and we noticed a slimy gloop stuck to the under side of the filter pipe.
This has led us to wonder if the fish might have mated and this gloop could be an egg sack or something, as it seems the fish is guarding it. I know nothing about breeding tetras so if this is the case I would really appreciate some advice so I can try and get some babies!
Thanks in advance
