I have a 200 gallon aquarium I'm not new tropical fish. However I'm fairly new to a community tank with only barbs and tetras. My question is can I put all barbs with tetras I know some are semi aggressive such as the tiger barbs they are tail nippers. So I won't be putting any others with long tails.

I’d keep away from Tiger Barbs of any shade. They’re nothing but trouble.

Take a look on seriouslyfish.com just input your fancied fish into its search bar and click on its name and you’ll see an A4 sized type sheets worth of essential info on it. Water PH, temp, GH, min tank size, tank mates, tank decor, food, plants etc.
I just wish it had been around during my previous fishkeeping periods. Instead I was reduced to reading 20-40 year old library books

What about other barbs. There will not be any tiger barbs : regular or any color for that matter. Can I put Rosy barbs and other barbs with my tetras.how ever I was told if I did put Tiger barbs to put in 8 - 10 so that they pick on each other. In my tank I only want schooling fish.

I'd be more concerned about temperature matching whichever tetra - barb combo you pick. Alot of barbs are temperate, preferring water around 20c or less. There are some tetra that can go colder than the norm - black phantom, black neon, lemon to name but a few.

I had Odessa, they're stunning (at least the males are) and fairly peaceful, for a barb. They did attack my corydora, never kept them with tetra though. I had them as a barb and danio setup with loaches

I have got five banded barbs with tetra’s.Very peaceful fish and no problems.I think they need to be in decent numbers though.(I have 12).
Once they grow a bit they are a really nice looking fish. These sometimes get overlooked.

I have ones where the ph gh kh and temperatures are very very close. I just haven't researched the temperament of all of them trying to take a shortcut by asking

To your initial question, as some others have noted, not all tetras can be housed in the same tank, and not all barbs either. And temperature can factor in. The GH of 75 is presumably 75 ppm, so you are dealing with soft/very soft water which gives you considerable options from the aspect of parameters. All of the tetras, and pretty much all the barbs, plus most of the danios, rasboras, loaches, catfish (like cories)... literally a whole world at your fingertips.

Compatibility is often misunderstood. Parameters are key, then there is the habitat environment--flowing water or still water, lots of plants/cover, sand substrate or gravel, rocks, or wood, or both...all these impact the health of the fish.
