Tetra Tec Gs45 Glass Scraper

I am wondering if i should invest in this http/www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...products_id=334

I have some tough green spot algae in a tank with sand, and it seems near impossible to be able to do it with an algae magnet-type cleaner, so i think this may be the best bet, but i dont want the glass to be scratched, surely a blade would scratch? does anyone have this and advise it?

blades will only scratch if you use the edge...and even then it doesnt scratch easily IME.

just be careful around silicone

tidy, do you know how many blades come with it initially? do i need to buy the replacement back aswell as the scraper?

yeah, but how can you possibly grip a razor blade aswell as moving it up and down and pushing at the same time- i did think of manufacturing some kind of scraper using my dads stanly knife blades, all i would need is some type of pole and then screw it on- but for a few quid i rekon i will just get the algae scraper

i bought one that has a space for a blade out of a stanley knife...cost me £2 from P@H

i bought one that has a space for a blade out of a stanley knife...cost me £2 from P@H

dont have a pets at home i will wait and see i think.

I just use a bare stanley blade at a 45 degree (ish) angle. As long as you keep the blade flat on the glass and, as truck said, stay careful around seals you will be fine.
