Hi im after a new filter and the general consensus is that the tetratec ex1200 is a bargain especially with the 3 year warranty, well on ebay their is a seller selling a new tetra ex1200 for over £10 less than anyone else, but and heres the but, the others are advertised as tetratec ex1200 and their images shown are slightly different. Are they an identical filter or were they revised from tetra to tetratec.

Tetra just dropped the tec from their name but there are a v1 and v2 of the ex1200, the v2 will have a key turn on the inlet/outlet bit as well as flap lock

yep has the double tap :good:

cheers
ordered :hyper: hope it fits in my roma 125 cabinet or i could be getting the saw out or having a filter on full view
would it be worth me getting the hydor external heater while im at it?
I use a 300watt hydor heater with one of my ex1200's on my Rio 400 (450 litres) and I love it :) I used to have to use 2 x 300 watt internal heaters in the tank and the fish were constantly bumping into them (mainly my Oscar and then my red devil after I rehomed the Oscar) right til the point where eventually they broke them. Now I only use the 1 external and it's so good. Copes very well indeed heating my tank to the 27 degrees c I need. Wouldn't be without an external now :good:

Plus it's less clutter in the tank = more room for the fish :)
