Hi,ive just got a tetra co2 optimat, the instructions are somewhat bafferlin, could some one give me some info on it and how to set it up properly,im gona try it on my 60 ltr b4 i put co2 In my 180 ltr as i want to see if its safe with my fish, please help

I just bought one of these, looking forward to seeing the response, know what you mean about the instructions!

Would like to know how long the depot lasts as well.

In the instructions it says the co2 should be realeased at night when lights r off.,i thought ur spose to realease it during day ?,and i cant have air pumps runnin?,what about my powerheads=1 aquaclear 30 and 1 50

Not sure about the kit but having air pumps (that put bubbles in water) will help co2 escape the tank. Which kinda spoils having the kit. Powerheads should be fine.

I thought daytime too, because plants use oxygen at night via respiration... And co2 in the day...

You're supposed to submerge the green "diffuser" in water and fill it up by pressing on the top of the pressurized can. This releases CO2 into the diffuser. You won't see anything coming out of it btw.
It's supposed to be filled up a few times a day, depends on how much you see dissappear.
When they talk about releasing the CO2 at night, I assume they are talking about getting rid of any CO2 still in the green diffuser. They're just covering their backs but is no way you could gas out a tank with this piece of equipment.
All in all, it doesn't really do much. Liquid carbon is better.

Yeah i hear they are not very good but i thought id try,if my plant perk up a little id b happy,do i have to watch the diffuser to make sure of a release, cos ive hidden it behind a pump,

The only thing visible is you actually filling up the diffuser (column of gas starts to extend downward). As the day goes on and you pass the tank, it's worth checking if the gas bubble has decreased or not. So, you don't need to keep a close eye, just every now and then.
