Well, here we have it.

Used to have 6 rasboras but 4 died. Now i have 2 of them, 6 neons and a catfish of some sort (ID please?)

Looks like you forgot to add the photo

Catfish is a bristlenose. They do get quite large, up to 16cm long in a suitable tank so it will eventually outgrow the tank you have it in. It could take it years to reach this size.

You said in the thread in betta section that he's really timid. he would probably be less timid if you provided another hiding place like a cave rock or a bark tunnel. Bristlenose don't really feel secure in a tank without wood or rocks to hide in (this is how they live in their natural habitat). As odd as it sounds, the more hiding places you provide, the less fish tend to use them. If they know that if threatened they can be hidden within seconds they don't feel the need to stick to cover.

The tank is looking great! White gravel and neons looks really nice.

yeh its a BN but more likely 2 stay around the 4 half inches 2 be honest & will be fine in that size tank as long as there is plenty filtration. and it wont take years 2 grow 2 full lengh prob more like 12-18 mnth :)

Cook, i got me ID! :D.

Now i need some recommendations (im going to buy some logs from P@H today, quite expensive though :( ) what fish can i put in along with these?
Im no longer thinking of a betta as there are too many compatibility issues, but what else can i get?

I want some bigger fish, not giant, but things bigger than neons and rasboras. Goldfish size. I would really like some cichlids, but apparently my tank is too small, correct?

Thanks,
Keith

it is a bit small for most cichlids, and you're likely to come across the same compatability issues as with bettas.

maybe a pair of honey gouramis (Colisa chuna)?

Check out dwarf gourami. Also, I know it's a little late, but a lot of bottom feeding fish like that BN plec feel more secure with a dark substrate, so that white stuff isn't going to help. If I were you, i'd go for a fully natural look!

thats a common plec not a bristlenose???

also i dont think the plant on the right is aquatic

agree it does look a tiny bit like a BN at first glance, but it is Def. a Common which may get to over a foot.

both plants are aquatic,

left - echindorous amazonious (amazon sword)
right - hygrophillia difformis (water sprite/ wisteria)

I think it is a common, BN usually have the bridtles next to the gills right from birth dont they?

the catfish is not a BN it is indeed a common, tank looks good, the white gravel makes the neons look great
