Tetra 60l Planted. Whatcha Think! :d

Tanks so clean, waters very clear considering the addition of the wood! Watch out for tannins (though the tetras will love them).
Great tank!

Yeah, i soaked the log for a while before i put it in the tank. Straight after it was put in, i did a 95% water change to get rid of nitrites. Explain what tannins are and the effect they will have please?

Brown stuff that leeches out of bogwood, makes the water go tea-like, but lowers the pH in a nice natural way.

Tannins are what makes parts of the amazon river 'blackwater', so fish from blackwater environments (like neons and your plec) will love it . The carbon in your filter will probably be helping to remove them too.

wow, the tank looks great. I love the white gravel with the drift wood!

oh and also i see your another youngish fish keeper:)

tank looks good but you realise you have to get rid of the plec dont you? they grow oevr the 18" mark!

Also you say you were dong a water change to get rid of nitrites? are you doing a fish in cycle or did you mean nitrates?

The tank was cycled but when i overcleaned the filter and added 7 fish on the same day, the cycle was ruined. had no ammonia but nitrite is constantly through the roof.
With daily changes included i did the 95% yesterday. The nitrite is still rising. So i am getting mature media from a friend. About the common, P@H just sold me it. I didnt know what final size it would end up at, but im sure ill be able to find a home for it.

IMO you've got a while till it starts growing...v.slow growers in my experience. But still, try and rehome it ASAP! Get yourself either a group of otocinlus (best algae eaters, apart from amano shrimps in my opinion), a group of amano shrimps or a smaller plec such as a pitbull pleco :)
Looks much better with the wood in there :good:

So when i get the mature filter media from the friend, ill do a huge water change to get the levels close to 0. From there, ill put the stuff in. How long until it will work?
