My results for my water were all fine except for the PH which seemed to be a little too high. Is it worth buying something to make it drop or won't it make much of a difference? I haven't done any water changes yet as i've had my tank for a week.

How high is the ph, & what type of fish were you thinking of keeping? Unless the ph is incredibly high, don't mess with it. Most fish will acclimate to a fairly wide ph range. To change ph properly, you need to start with r.o. water. Trying to change the ph of tap water is usually a losing battle, causing ph variations which are terrible for fish.

My ph was off the chart, >8.4, and after a week of it sitting with the bubble bar going and 3 fish - it's dropped to about 6.8

If you are cycling the ph will be all over the place, test your tap ph that will tell you the ph.

You need to aerate the tap water first to get an accurate reading.

Check what ph your LFS is keeping the fish at. If thats similar to what you have then it should be just fine.
