What test kits would you guys and gals recommend. I'm currently using the tetra test 5 in 1. But as the readings aren't that specific i need to try something else.

I want acurate test kits for, ph, kh, gh, no2 and no3.

I've used Nutrafin kits with good results.

Their low-range pH is ideal for planted tanks (pH 6.0 - 7.6) and is very good value - normally less than £5 for 225 tests. Their KH/GH kit is more accurate than most as each drop = 10ppm rather than 1 degree (17.9ppm). I found their NO2 kit accurate enough but once a tank has fully cycled and matured then

I've still not found a decent NO3 kit but have been recommended the JBL before now.

The Nutrafin PO4 kit is also good IME.

Cheers. I've had similar problems with NO3 test kits as well. I've used the Nutrafin test kit before, but found it difficult to get an exact figure. From memory it's the kit with different shades of pink, which i found difficult to check.

I use the API ones, and as far as i know they work fine. The NO3 is also a bit diffucult to read once over 20ppm so not ideal, but the others are easy enough to follow and get readings from.
