I am going to get a liquid test kit today and for some reason I thought I read on here you had to replace them every once in a while, is this true?

Get a Freshwater Master kit by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals, INC. It has over 700 tests so it will last atleast 1 year for 2 tanks.

Thanks for the recommendation wow didn't realise it came with that much liquid in it, or did you mean test strips?

That is the total number of tests, but when you test for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH, that is 4 tests. (and you will probalby only use one of the two pH bottles, one is hihger range, one is lower)

I have had this kit for over a year and love it, though i'm not sure if it expires or not. I've heard mixed things, like 3 months for nitrate tests, and a year for everything else. I've had mine for about a little less than a year. I usually just replace the whole thing when the ammonia test runs out.

Cool, does it come with one of those chart things to see what the different colors mean?

Yes it does come with "those chart things" :p and they are water-proof. It is very easy to use and comes with a manual. It tests ph (from 6.0-8.8 ) ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and has over 700 tests meaning you can do over 700 tests not the test sheets.
It is a good testing kit and usually no one is dissatified with it.

Great!!! My lps has this thing where they will accept competetors coupons. Any chance you could print it out and mail it to me cause my printer is on the fritz? :hey:

Nope they have that stupid block thing on the internet and I can't even come on here.

ask one of your teachers, their computers usually aren't blocked as badly. Even if you can't get on here to get the link, you may be able to get to http://www.bigalsonline.com. From there, click on test kits on the left hand side. On the top there will be several types of test kits, so click on master test kits, and scroll down until you see the one i showed you.
