i've had some oddballs bfore and they can be more trouble than they're worth. puffers sound interesting but as far as i know, they don't puff that much or often. also lots of puffer species need brackish water... dwarf gourami's are lovely. they might even breed for you!

you can keep 2 DP's in a tank with no aggression issues easily, ive done it in a 7 gallon. its all bout foot print, plants, and caves

True, true. But like has been said. All fish have minds of their own You could probably pull off 2 Dps in the 10G. You would need plenty of plants etc...

I would advice a tank of 20G for DP's.
Simply because they're so dam agressive.
