I need to treat three fish, they are all very small:

2 inch common plec
2 inch clown plec
1 inch USD cat

I want to put them in my 5 gallon that was originally supposed to be the hospital tank. However, there are four fish in there now. 3 small white cloud minnows and 1 small black molly.

My 20 gallon is pretty well stocked: 2 pearl gouramis, 1 black molly, 6 cory cats. Can I temporarily add the three white cloud minnows and the other black molly for 10 days? (so I can use the 5 gallon for the hospital tank?)

In three days I am going away for a week so need to do something ASAP. I have someone caring for the fish each day I'm gone.

The three "sick" fish are from the 55 gallon and they show minor signs of white spot, I think. All other fish (congos and kribs) look fine. I don't know for sure if it's white spot though and do not want to medicate the 55 gallon and all of its occupants if I don't have to.

Maybe I should just dose the 55 gallon and not individually medicate the 3 fish?

I just don't know what to do!!

if it's white spot i would treat the whole tank as the bacteria are probably present in your water and may eggs on the other fish while you would be treating the 5 gallon

i use Nox-Ich and use half the recommended dosage and it gets rid of ich in 4-5 days!
