hi,

hoping someone can help me here, i have 2 tanks, 1 in kitchen and 1 in lounge. 1 in kitchen is fine temp wise. however the 1 in my lounge keeps going very hot when i turn my heating (radiator other side of room) on in the evenings - as in its going up over 30 and only cools down when i turn heating off and tank light off. the heater in tank very rarely comes on.

now i dont want to sit and freeze but on the same line i dont want to cook my fish! what do i do?

you could maybe turn the central heating down a couple of degrees rather than switch it off, or turn it off and sit in a sleeping bag, they're quite warm :)

when i used to have the
fish room it used to be
heated by a gas fire
there was heaters
in the tanks but they
weren't plugged in and
were only there for
summer use when i used
them on stats just in case
the temp dropped during
the night it used to be between
77 and 79 in the winter and
could go over 91 in the summer
i used to have big fans running
in the summer i also had a dehumidifier
running as well in summer and winter
i used to sit in there watch my fish
surf the net and get a sauna at the same
time

hi,

it turns out the temp was NOT linked to me utting my heating on BUT the power cut we had re-set the heater and it was coming in high. luckily for me we only lost 3 out of 15 fish. (and i now have a further 22 babies since sorting temp out).
