ok, had to seperate the girls cause juliet kept chasing ophelia and I didnt have any extra plants for her to hide so I just set up the 1.5 gallon and she can play by her self now. ophelia looks kinda silly for a 3/4 inch of betta in a 5 gallon by herself...but thats ok shes happy now. here are the girls....can you tell me what tail type they really are...I cant tell myself.

They're both Crowntails :) I'm my experience, my CT girls were always the feistiest. You'd have better luck putting a few more girls in if you'd like your girls together. :)

well once healed and healthy from their life at walmart they are suposta go to my sisters sor...but I am getting very atached to these little girls:)

my goodness I just realised they look like they have pot bellys...am I overfeeding?

Their bellies look fine for young females that are still growing. You don't want them looking like they're going to explode, but they should be plump.

Are those really your rescues? They're looking great!... and they are definitely crowntails.

yup the poor girls I drug home from walmart, I cant believe they look so good. my husband had throw a bit of a fit cause he thought I was bringing home doomed fish. I was so not sure they were going to live that I gave them rather morbid names...and I cant believe nobody got their names yet.

ophelia and juliet...both female charectors from shakesphere plays that died young and tragicly

I feed them those hicoroo or whatever gold pellets, frozen bloodworm and other things..look like little bullion cubes and they got peas today, and I am doing water changes every day to keep things clean. so pretty much I am trying as hard as possible to make them healthy.

That 5 gallon is just right for 1 or 2 female bettas. Any smaller means more work trying to keep them healthy with good water. A few silk plants would probably allow the girls to be kept together but if its only temporary there is little point to it. By the looks of them, they are being well cared for. Young female bettas are supposed to have that heavy belly look when they are in good health. I have 5 females in a 10 gallon with enough cover that they are comfortable. They are about the same age as yours but I'm not sure what that is because I bought them just about a month ago.
