Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering, as I've never really thought about it before, how many of you are still living in your parents house?

I am 17 in November, and I live with my parents. MY pets (not family pets) that I will be taking with me when I move out are as follows:

-A breeding clan of Mongolian Gerbils, containing 4 breeding pairs, unpaired breeders, and pups equalling 24 gerbils in all.

-A breeding pair of Fat-Tailed Gerbils (Duprasi) that I am purchasing next month

-Two whites tree frogs

-An Albino Pacman Frog

-A Bullfrog (tadpole, still. But he has legs!)

-2 Giant African Millipedes

-2 budgies

-3 rabbits...a netherland dwarf, a Californian, and a Rex Cross

-1 dog, maybe two if we keep the latest.

-1 33 Gallon tank with swordtails, Red Eye tetras, a moonlight gourami, a fire dwarf gourami, an opaline gourami, some platys, and apple snails

-1 25 gallon with 5 australian rainbows and a pair of kribensis (standard)

-1 20 gallon with a Dojo Loach and two goldfish

-1 75 gallon (next week, it will be set up, I'll have it when I move though) with blood parrots, a Synodontis Euruptus, a bumblebee cat, an apple snail, an albino rainbow shark, and some fish I haven't purchased yet.

-1 ten gallon newt/danio tank

-1 ten gallon nursery tank

-1 five gallon betta/african dwarf frog/applesnail tank

 At this rate, I'll never find a first house that will take them all! Am I destined to live in my parents basement forever? Who else in here seems to have resigned themselves to the same horrid fate?

I wouldn't have it any other way.... :kana:

Well I'm 15.... I have:

55 gallon tank,
30 gal
15 gal
33 gal
5 1/2 gal
10 gal
20 gal long, gecko. Hopefully i will soon breed him

family pets: Hampster and dog.

Well...I'm not a teen but a 21 year old college student with a:

55 gallon
two 29 gallons
a ten gallon
and, soon, a 40 gallon breeder

I own my own house now so can (within reason) have as many tanks/pets as I like. That said I only have the 75gal, 30gal, 10gal, 6gal and 5gal. Space is very much an issue :p

If I were still living at home I wouldn't be allowed a tank at all. Mum thinks fish and associated stuff looks messy....like cables and all. She also has a massive paranoid thing about water going everywhere. She also keeps her house like a museum....so unless fish belong in museums -_-. That and the fact that she is ALWAYS cleaning and spraying stuff everywhere, she would prolly clean the algae out of the tank using Exit Mould  then wonder why the fish were dying. The clean thing is why I left home as soon as I could afford to (well, to be honest, I left before that but managed to survive on 2-min noodles)

I'm 14 and have two main display tanks (20g planted comunity and 40g Mbuna) but have many many small 10-15g tanks that i use for breeding dwarf cichlids/catfishs(even though i never get any fry) and also hospital tanks.
I got all the small tanks from a closing down pet store who gave them for free :D

I'm a shamefull 19 and i'm still living wit my parents. I've only got one tank so it's not too hard to up and move, I plan to send them all to my lfs for safe keeping for a while during the move so that they don't have to put up with the painting and decorating and stuff like that. The tank and fishies are in my sig.

hey angry platy,

2 min noodles are the best.

have u ever tried mi goreng noodles?? they are about half the price of magi noodles n taste like 10000000 times better.

lol my parents are going away for 4 weeks and i'll be living off them and cheap pizza (a few mates work at pizza hut)

a bit off topic but hey, i dunno if u can get the mi goreng outside australia or wherever they come from lol :p

14 with

2 german shepherd dogs
1 cat
2 guinea pigs
A blind goat who lives at my friends farm
200 gallon
15 gallon
44 gallon
20gallon
and i just had to sell my pony but ill be getting anew one soon

I'm in college. When I left for school I had a (sometimes, when they feel like it) breeding pair of Irian Jaya carpet pythons (about 4.5' long apiece) which I had to leave at home, on account of not having enough space for a 55gal tank here at my apartment.

Now, I've got:
Leopard gecko, male
juvie black ratnsake
Brazilian black tarantula, immature
Costa Rican tiger rump tarantula, hatchling
Betta

And my pythons are still at home :(

I never lived in the basement (House is old enough that the basement is just a dank room with the furnace and sump and crawlspaces) but I did live in a storage building on the property that was a Dr.'s office when it was originally built. Lots of room for pets in there, I miss it :(

I'm 14 with a long 20gallon with 2 long finned black tetras,1 regular black tetra. A 10gallon tank with 2 regular black tetras and a common pleco about 5inches long! Which all fish from my 10g will be going to my long 20g with another long finned black tetra. Then I will most likley put female bettas in my 10g. A 2.5minibow with a betta which is now in a 1/2g bowl because he biting his tail or fin rot which I'll treat for. And a cat shaped fish bowl with a perfectly healthy betta. And when I move out I will move on into bigger and better tanks like maybe a 75g tank or a 29g tank. Depending on what money allows.

I'm 14 and when I move out I will probably be taking ALL of my fish tanks (I don't think my parents would want to take care of them, but by then I might have convinved them to set up a small betta tank, so we'll see :p ). But I probably wouldn't be keeping all of them (so I would sell them), I guess it just depends, I know I won't be able to if I'm living in a dorm room. I will also be taking my budgies and my cockatiel, but our 2 cats and our dog (which are family pets) will be staying with my parents. My cats will be...about 11-12 years old when I move out so I'm sure they wouldn't want to move! And my dog will be 7-8 years old, my parents would never give her up.
Once I do get a house, I want to have atleast 2 dogs, and atleast a cat or two because I don't think I'd be able to live without cats. I also would like to foster animals if thats possible. Would love to have a ferret or atleast a rat(s). AND a big 75+ gallon community tank with schools of tetras and shoals of cories and gouramis...maybe a hamster as I've never been aloud to have one. I was thinking about a large parrot (african grey!) but they are so much work, and if I want all these other animals a large parrot won't be possible. A group of mice would be cool, too! And maybe a few more of the smaller birds, a colony of cockatiels would be awesome! And even more budgies. I've never had a reptile, how about a small snake or gecko...Yaa, I think I'm done. I don't think my parents will be visiting me, thats for sure!
