When I lived with my parents I wasn't allowed to have fish, because they didn't think I'd take care of them.
When I moved into residence for uni, I ended up with 9 bettas and a 15g.
Moved in with the grandparents til I found my own place, had 2 bettas and the 15g.

Now that I live on my own, in my own apartment [I'm 18], I have a 34g, a 5g [boyfriend's tank], a 2.5, and 3 1gs. So the 34g community tank and 5 bettas.

I'm 13 and have a 55G empty (Soon to be home to angles and gouramis)
two 10Gs (One will soon be a Swordtail/Platies Tank)
one 5G, which is full of water, but empty of fish :/
and 2 1Gs, home to my bettas....

When I'm going to college ( I want to study Bio., studying anything from mamal, to Marine) I'm prolly going to bring a 10G and a few betta bowls....maybe minus the bettas...But I'm planning on keeping my MTS controlled alittle more as I'm older....Because I have a decent "income" and can afford tanks now, so whats going to happen when I can really afford tanks?

That is not shameful you sound like my daugther who will be 21 in December. Moving out seems liek such a wonderful thing but the reality of actually having to pay bills, party and never have anything is not a welcome one to most. Stay while you can and enjoy the freedom as a young adlult Ok off the soap box hehe I am 43 and have just one tank 26 gallons. I have a blue gourami, redflame gourami and three fat belly guppies and two chinese algae eaters. This is the first tank I have had that is bigger than 10 gal. I know I need a 10 gallon I want to keep my new fish in it for a week to make sure they are healthy I have watched systamatically the fish die off one by one from ick that I cannot stop. Other than the nedication i already have been doing I am not sure who to stop this cycle.

I'm a shamefull 19 and i'm still living wit my parents.  I've only got one tank so it's not too hard to up and move, I plan to send them all to my lfs for safe keeping for a while during the move so that they don't have to put up with the painting and decorating and stuff like that. The tank and fishies are in my sig.

I'm 15 and I only own one tank otherwise I would drive my parents nutters! I'm still sorting out a mild case of Ich in my tank which is going slowly but surely. It's sooooo annoying.

However on the brighter side I got the results of my 2 modular exams back and I got 50/50 A* for Biology and 50/50 A* for Chemistry I'm soooo happy! :D :D :D

Im 12 and I have a dog, a 29 gallon fish tank, two dwarf hamsters, and a bearded dragon. Im getting ready to stock my tank.

I'm 19 and living at home until next year when I transfer to a different college, at which point I will be bringing these things to my apartment with me (God bless my friend and future roommate for putting up with all this):

Tanks:
75 gallon -- one 10-11" oscar and one 6" tailless midas-blood parrot hybrid

29 gallon -- planted. One pair of angels, a bumblebee catfish, a senegal bichir, and an African butterfly fish

10 gallon -- One honey gourami, two WCMMs (my LFS never gets more in!), one khuli loach (again, can't find any more at the LFS), two ADFs, one cory that is old as dirt and will never die.

10 gallon -- Split to house 5 male bettas

10 gallon -- One pair of Betta imbellis, three otos

5 gallon -- Pair of dwarf puffers (I know, I'm very lucky they live together peacefully)

5 gallon -- Currently housing my leopard ctenopoma until he's big enough to go in the 29 gallon without being eaten by my bichir

15 betta tanks between 1 and 2.5 gallons

Non-aquatics:
My kitty, Circe, and Petri the Pacific parrotlet

Of course, I'm also leaving a lot of pets behind... like my two leopard geckos, two parakeets, and the box tortoise. We also have two dogs, two lovebirds, and another cat that are famly pets. That's actually probably the fewest amount of animals we've ever had. We used to have things like horses, chickens, a pot-bellied pig, rabbits, rats, goats, ducks, etc etc :p

I don't have to worry about moving out any time soon, I'm 13. :p

I have Phoebe- a rather lazy, obese but cuddly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Jasmine - a neurotic, crazy, air-licking Cav who is Phoebe's sis, and Jeremiah - a cruisy male betta who belongs in the 70's. :p

But soon to come are a pair of Heterandria formosa (two weeks from now) and another male betta on Saturday.

I'm also using my empty 7 gal for heterandria fry and getting a 55 gal for Christmas which I plan to stock with some medium sized cichlids, a few BN plecs and a large-ish shoal of danios or such.

Smll voice;

26 and still at home with my dad!

I have a tank and an elderly and infirm rabbit.
I'm at home because I had a complete change of heart career wise so now I am working part time and about to start back at college despite already having A levels and a degree and a postgrad qualification!

I am lucky my dad is really nice and not easily ruffled!

I am 23, I live in a RAF house with my husband in Lincoln.
We own, 2 german shephards, 1 called Duke who is fully trained as a police dog. (my hubby is a dog handler) another ***** called Missy, who is also kinda trained but not as much. I have an 8 year old dwarf lop rabbit called Lucy, who happens to be a boy, (long story). Also my 350ltr tank with, 3 Plecs, 3 gouramis, 4 goldfish, 6 Parrot fish, 1 spined loach, 1 golden sucker loach, & albino corys. one more thing, i cant beieve how old most of you are, not that its a problem. i honestly thought everyone was older, around 30.
Its obviously not true what they say then about being older and wiser.

Me too, some of you guys sound really mature...I just assumed you were older. I also assumed that to have that many fish tanks you would have to have your own place!

I'm 25 and renting with my bf. I got my first tank at 20 when I lived at home for year (on placement in middle of uni) cos my parents wouldnt let me have a rabbit.

Now I'm renting and thank god I have good landlords, I now have 2 bunnies and 2 fishtanks :) I just worry that if we have to move on it'll be tough to find a place that will allow the bunnies and tanks. I think landlords are so strict but 99% dont allow pets :(

I'm 14 and have a dog, 2 birds, a hedgehog, 1 90-gallon tank and 1 20-gallon tank. I really doubt i'll take anything with me :p

I am currently 19 and in my second year of college for veterinary technology, after which I will be in school for at least another 4 years to become a biology teacher. My family is being so gracious as to let me live with them after this year, so that I don't have to struggle juggling two jobs to pay for school and rent. My "rent" at home will be caring for all of my personal pets, and the family pets, which are as follows:
- 4 bettas
- 2 goldfish
- 1 CAE
- 4 mice
- 2 gerbils
- 2 rabbits
- 2 chickens
- 1 ferret
- 1 cat
- 1 dog
- 2 parrots
- 3 parakeets
- 1 finch
- 1 tarantula
And, coming this spring, the animal family will be expanded to add a pair of button quail (possibly a breeding pair), a male plakat betta, and a giant african millipede. So, I'll have my hands quite full ^^

Most of the critters are, indeed, mine though. Or are my fault (lol) for bringing them home and making them family pets. I pay for thier food, and go 50/50 with my parents on the numerous vet bills. I've also paid for all of the cages. So I don't feel like TOO much of a moocher; if anything, this year is my mooching year - the only pets I can keep up at the school are the bettas, so my poor parents are stuck with all the critters, and paying rent, tuition ('cept for the hefty portion my scholarship cut out of it), etc. since the economy out here is too dead to find a worthy job.

Once I am done with schooling - by which point, I am sure many pets will have passed, and many more will have arrived - I am expected to move out and bring all of my own personal pets with me; only the dog, cat, ferret, and rabbits will probably be staying. Which is fine by me, because my parents have a bad habit of making my pets obesce, and not noticing serious health problems. But they're doing thier best, bless 'em.

18 with...

210g, 125g, 110g, 2x 30g and 3x 15g

and i'm now planning and building a big koi pond thats going to cost me a small fortune in filtration. i don't plan on letting the parents have that all to them selves any time soon!.
