Lately I've noticed two of my zebra danios are looking a little raggad. The biggest things I am noticing is their heads look too big for their body (ie they have lost weight) but aren't to the all skin and bones point, yet. Also, a few spots where it looks like they have lost their coloring. They also seem a little less active. For the most part, I think they are eating. They are at the top of the tank durring the feeding frenzy.

Two weeks ago, I did loose a zebra danio from TB, but at the same time, I think these are the danios that I have had for over a year, and were initially kept in a 5 gal tank (bad advice from a LPS).

My tank is in a mini-cycle from my stupidity, but I am working on corecting this (ammonia < .5). But I did notice this before the mini cycle began.

So is it old age, or the early signs of fish TB?

EDIT: the entire tank was treated with Maracyn and Maracyn 2 a week ago because of two bacterial related deaths.

Can you quarantine them, if you have had tb it can pass to the others, that's why it's best to quarantine them, and do plenty of water changes on the tank and add a bacteria med.

I can put them in a bucket for the next 24 hours, but I can't get them into a tank (10 gal) for the next 24 hours. I have DIY dividers drying in my betta tank, so as soon as that is done, I can juggle some fish around to open up a tank. My hospital tank is currently being used for a fishless cycle.

The other catch is I don't have any bio ready to go into the other tank. I threw away my spounge after the mysterious sore death (tiny sore, didn't look like columnaries).

An antibiotic like tetracycline but only thing is it would wipe the bacteria colony out.
