Hi,
I am currently 5 days into a fishless cycle with an 80L tank.

Naturally I am taking daily water samples and, when I do so, there is a little bit of tap water in the test tubes (just the traces that cling to the surfaces, after rinsing them out), and there is also tap water on my wet hands (I wash them, and rinse them well, but don't dry them).

Are those amounts of tap water going to be a problem with a tank that size (assuming that I will be testing everyday for a few weeks)?

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Thanks

Hi i dont think it will be an issue, there is such a small amount of tap water relative to the tank water. :good:

Thanks to both of you.

I guessed as much, but wanted to check. I'd hate to spend weeks wondering why my levels hadn't changed, blissfully unaware that I had killed of all the bacteria. :)

The olny time that it can be detrimental is if there is a bit of tapwater in the testtube before you fill it for testing, so giving a false reading.

Dont worry about it being on your hands, its ok.
