today i bought two ottocatts an two what walmart called lace catfish. (not buying it) anyways the ottocats stayed together in jaspers tank because he is my most mello betta. then i put one cat in with each betta. the one in raynes tank hid right away not sure if she has even noticed she has a roomy yet. storm chased his around the tank before the little guy found a hiding spot. the two are slowly adjusting to each other. i gave each tank a little alge waffer to get them started off. rayne things the alge waffers are wonderful *glares at betta, thats not your food* the other two could care less. but it seems like at the moment things are going better with these additions, then my addition of shrimp with livingston a few months back. so far my bello jasper just pokes at the ottos to get them out of his favorites spots but he has been good. aaa i love new fish day

ottos do better as a pair or more.

keep an eye on the guys. some bettas are ok with them and some just don't want to share their tank with ANYTHING (including my finger :p)

edit: btw i had the same thing with one of my bettas eating the algae wafers and even guarding them. he stopped doing that after about 2 weeks. he would take a bite, spit some out, take another bite, spit it out. I think he was just more curious and it took him a while to get over it. if i had to guess, he was attracted to the protein supplements in the wafers.

the ottos are together, they are fast little suckers, there driving the normaly peacful jasper crazy. the cats are good to both found a betta free spot to hid. its rayne i am worried about today she ended up eating most of the alge waffer and has gotten jumbo sized. no food for her for the next couple of days. greedy betta lol.

jasper has had enough of the ottocats and has started chasing after them, should i switch the ottos into one of the other bettas tank and try putting the little cat fish in with another fish or pull them out all together.
