Tank Will Not Cycle

okay...i have been cycling this tank for 2 months now.... water changes everything (fishless) and i need it now... i bred two guppies together to try and get a certain color and i need the tank for my fry and the ammonia is still really high! its at like 2.8.... right now the fry are in a half gallon tank, no filter just an airstone and it has their old tank water in it... please helpppp

I had the same problem thinking the test kits were off so I bought 6 Long Fin Zebras (regular ones were out) and stuck them in. They're still alive and the ammonia levels have gone from reading 2+ to under .25 over the course of a few weeks. Bio-spira will work too if you're willing to pay for overnight shipping from a website.
