I have had one of those stick on thermometers for about 3 weeks and suddenly it seemed to stop working. I put my finger in the water this morning and it seemed quite a bit warmer than usual, so I turned the heater off. It is now several hours later, and the water has cooled, but the thermometer remains the same! Is it stuck?

David, the price of a new one far out weighs the worries of that one doing that again. I'd get a new one and be glad that you noticed the problem before something terrible happened.

Those stick on liquid crystal ones are rubbish. Get one with a digital readout, they're only about £7 here.

Ok just MO but don't the stick on kind read the glass temp mixed with the room temp. When what your wanting is the water temp.

I've had a stick on thermometer on my old 10 gallon for years, and I've never had any problems... -_-

i have a suction cup one and a stick-on one. they're so cheap it's worth getting 2 in case you get a dodgy reading
