Hi.Ive just been reading a topic about the correct temperatures that fancy goldfish should be kept at.
Ive always assumed that they should be kept at "room temperature" (mine are currently 20 degrees/68)
I have a "Juwel Rio" tank (bow fronted approx.45 gallons) and i have Ryukins/Black moors/Orandas/Ranchu..........so was wondering if someone could clarify what temp.my tank should be please :dunno:
Also have a selection of live plants.

my oranda is kept at 25 c. but i think anywhere between 22 and 28c. depends on the keeper really, some keep them cool and some warm. :) sorry i cant be more specific.

I've read fancies do best in warmer water...not warm, but not room. Ya know? My tank gets 76 degrees at the most.

I am one of those who prefer to keep it a bit warmer and no complaints from the orandas or moor. However, some people swear that all goldfish, regardless of type, are cold water. It's one of those "no-one-will-ever-win" arguements and the temperature is left up to the owners preference.

Don't worry there are plenty of issues that leave us all throwing our arms in the air out of frustration...especially when you have an equal amount of reputable references siting opposite opinions. Phew!
