Tank Stock...

Hi,
I have a Juwel Rio 180 litre tank.
it currently has : 1 Opaline Gourami
4 Leopard Danio
5 Tiger Barbs
5 Glowlight Tetra
1 Common Plec
1 Pakistani Loach
4 Guppies(soon to be move to an other tank)
3 Red Eye Tetra
2 Congo Tetra

I was wondering how my stocking level was,
I'm running a Fluval 305 External Filter.
The tank is filled with a lot of plants including a giant mound of Java Moss..

it looks ok but i wouldnt add any more and you need to get red of the common plec

In ~3-6 months the common plec will start becoming too big for your tank. Once you've managed to sell/rehome it, you should look at buying another 3-4 pakistani/yoyo loaches to go with the 1 you already have (as they prefer to be in groups).

There would still be room to increase some of the shoals you have too, especially if you go ahead with rehoming the guppies.

give your reasoning for getting rid of the plec,
I know that it will grow, but by the time it has out grown my tank.
i will either transfer it to a bigger tank or give it to a friend who has a large aquarium able to hold it.

the guppies are going into 1 of the 3 spare tanks i have..

its will grow alot quicker than you think mine grew from 2 inches to 5 inches about 2 months and they make alot of waste and they can get qiute agressive just before i got red of mine wheen he was 5 inches hes started attacking my other fish

Just my tuppence but i found that the common plec is really nice unless keeping plants which it will completely wreck! And they do grow very quickly!

A good reason to get rid ofthe pleco is that because the sommons grow over 12 inches.

mine seems just a bit docile, if it starts to get aggressive i will transfer it to my friends tank..

You shouldn't get rid of it because of agression, you should get rid of it because it will get HUGE and produce A LOT of waste. Re home when it is young and small, or you will have difficulty doing it when he is full grown.

You should not have any problems with aggresion as they only don't like fellow Plecs, I had 2 together for nearly 3 years but only just had to give them away as they started to fight with each other, never went near or bothered by any other fish though!

Like I stated, here should not be a problem with agression, just the size.
