Just wondering what size tank and how many fish if I were to have two electric yellows (for sure that is what they are) and one or two what I think might be Melanochromis joanjohnsonae.

Should I just keep them in the tank with the oscars and tinfoil barb, or rehome them?

[edited to add] sorry about so many questions, I did google them (that is how I found out what they were) but was unable to find anything about how they get along together. If anyone has any links that would help, instead of answers, that would be great too!

Read through the mbuna artical pinned at the top - it's a bit long but it will give you a nice intro to Mbuna. I wouldn't put them in anything less then 30 gallons, and only for a few species when that small, because of aggression and the fact that they're simply very active fish that use the space.

The Labs and Melanochromis will work together, but you'll need to remove one of the Melans, with two in a tank one will probably be killed eventually, especially in a smaller tank - you can expect any species of the melanochromis variety to be very aggressive.

I'd think you need at least 30 gallons for a succseful malawi tank.
