I would like some opinions. Currently I have a Top/Bottom stand for Dual 55G, but I want some nice hoods and I would rather have the custom built Redwood Stands I have running through my head. ;)

So, here is my question. Would you go Top/Bottom or Side by side?

Thanks.

side by side between those two choices, simply because it'd be easier to see both tanks, unless you have little kids who'd like the lower tank b/c it'd be easier for them to see.

spreads weight out on your floor aswell. however, having them on top of each otehr allows more floorspace for future tanks...;)

Well, eventually I want a 125G or bigger tank. :) So I will be keeping the Top/Bottom stand.

I have to agree though, the space availability is really nice using the top/bottom. :/ But side-by-side is so much easier for maintenance, etc.. :/

I'd go side by side and get a water bridge so that the fish can go from one tank to the other at their leisure ^.^ If they are all compatable with each other, that is...

top/bottom is a great space saver, but as said, it can be killer when it comes time for cleaning. i had a top/bottom setup for two tens (the stand now holds lizard enclosures). i use the old syphon and bucket brigade method, so filling up the bottom one (and depending with gravel vac i used) could be a tedious task. if you have room, and the resources, go side by side. (though a plus of the top/bottom set up, if you have cats, they can better view your fish in the bottom tank.......... free entertainment for hours  )
